Event planning is a great way to incorporate literacy and the Expanded Core Curriculum (ECC) into student-led activities!  While this particular example was done at Easter, there are many opportunities throughout the year to practice reading, writing, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
 

Tips to Expand and Strengthen Collaboration

Collaboration is a vital key to student success and we, as teachers, need to collaborate with other team members for the student's benefit. This team is not limited to just the professionals on the school campus, but the parents are essential team members padlock and keyas well. Without parental input and support, much of what I am able to do at school would not be possible.

Theme Books for Students with Visual Impairments

These were my way of trying to help add to their functional vocabulary. I created a "Teacher's Guide" to go with it to help the teachers out when I was not present.
