Alison Prskawetz
I am Co-ordinator of Visual Resource Centres at Blind Low Vision Education Network New Zealand (BLENNZ). I have been working in the field of Vision Education for over 10 years. One of my passions in this field is around access to the curriculum with Assistive Technologies. As a Resource Teacher Vision I had a great opportunity to work one to one with students and trialling different technologies to enable them to access the curriculum and to become more independent with their learning. In my current role I led the National peer review panel for assistive technology for BLENNZ. This has been a great way to keep up to date with changes in technology. Over the last two years I have had the pleasure of leading a project on how students acquire literacy through braille.
