Braille Study App

Icon for Braille Study app

This app was designed to help students to practice their braille skills.  Designed by Japanese developer Takuya Kawakami, there is a free version available of this app (with advertisement), which you may wish to try before purchasing it. It currently sells for $.99 in iTunes.  We have not tried it yet and would be interested to hear from any of you who do!

We have received some comments on Facebook about this app that we wanted to share with all of you:

Teaching the Visually Impaired writes:  "I quickly downloaded the app and found that all of the examples of numbers are missing the dot-3 in the numeric indicator symbol. It is an app in need of assistance at the moment."

Jamie Allison writes: "I've got a couple of apps like this already. I'm wondering if this one... or any of them in general... will address contractions. All of the ones I've experienced so far only do the alphabet, which isn't a challenge at all for me."

We appreciate people sharing their experiences about this, as it helps everyone, including the app developers.  Let us know if you've tried it too!

Not a good app. I've found errors like the one listed above and others. The app frequently crashed as well. I' have to reboot my iPad after using it. Walk away from this one!

Would someone please send a crash report?
In iTunes, connect the device, control-clicks on the name for the device, select "Reset Warnings". Afterwards, a dialog box will pop up when you connect the device, iTunes asking if it's OK to send crash report to Apple. If you click OK, then iTunes will automatically upload the crash report from the device to Apple.

"missing the dot-3" issue has not occurred on my environment..
