Pre‑Braille Experiences for Infants and Toddlers

Infants and toddlers benefit from many different types of experiences in their early years, to help them to develop necessary concepts and skills for learning braille.  These include:

  • number concepts and patterns
  • motor skills
  • exposure to braille in daily life
  • literature-rich experiences
  • reading from left to right
  • moving from concrete to abstract
