Infants and toddlers benefit from many different types of experiences in their early years, to help them to develop necessary concepts and skills for learning braille. These include:
- number concepts and patterns
- motor skills
- exposure to braille in daily life
- literature-rich experiences
- reading from left to right
- moving from concrete to abstract
