Make Your Own Puff Paint!

I am a braille transcriber and I use a lot of puff paint in the materials I make for various students.  In case you haven't tried it before, puff paint can be used to make raised lines or tactile drawings.  Different colors can be helpful to students with low vision.

It gets expensive, so I decided to make my own!  Here are the recipes I have tried.  Pink comes out best, but see what you think. You can leave out the food coloring if your student is totally blind and the color doesn't matter, although it can make the work more interesting for parents, classmates and others.

Blue

1/2 cup shaving cream

1/4 cup white glue

1/8 cup corn starch

Yellow

1/2 cup shaving cream

1/4 cup white glue

Purple

1/4 cup shaving cream

1/4 cup white glue

Pink

3/4 cup shaving cream

1/4 cup white glue

1/4 cup flour
