The Essential Assessment Rubric Project establishes standards of practice for assessment of students who are blind or visually impaired, including those with multiple disabilities or deafblindness. Parents will be able to use the online resource to prepare for the Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) or Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings. Administrators are currently using both content and quality rubrics to evaluate both program and service accountability.

Key components include:

  • Parent and/or caregiver interview
  • Teacher and/or service provider interview
  • Review of records
  • Child Observations
  • Child or Student Interview
