DIBELS
The Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS) are a set of standardized, individually administered measures of early literacy development. They are designed to be short measures to regularly monitor the development of pre-reading and early reading skills.
- Kindergarten level materials assess initial sounds fluency, letter naming fluency, phoneme segmentation fluency, and nonsense word fluency.
- 1st Grade materials assess letter naming fluency, phoneme segmentation fluency, nonsense word fluency, and oral reading fluency.

2nd through 6th Grade materials assess oral reading fluency.
