Children diagnosed with CVI (cortical visual impairment) often have difficulty understanding objects, pictures, and letters presented against a complex background. CVI Book Builder provides materials for parents and teachers to build books specifically for their reader. The kit provides a variety of black pages and black binders to use as low complexity backgrounds against which to present familiar items, photos, and letters/words.
The items in the photo on this page include plain black pages, a yellow comb, red buttons, a yellow pipe cleaner with red beads, and cards with an image of a red apple and a yellow banana. Yellow and red are often the preferred colors of many individuals with CVI.
