Dr. Seuss Family Night

Now that the majority of us have been practicing social distancing and we have not had a chance to meet with families and students in person, family events have drastically changed for most schools. Students are holding virtual concerts and programs, parents are making Zoom calls with teachers, friends and other school families. PTO’s have turned to Facebook to hold fundraisers and get information out about upcoming events. If you have  missed having family night with your school family, how about a game night on Zoom?

All children love to play hidden object games. Here is an activity that I found on Pinterest that students with vision impairments can participate in with a few minor accommodations.

Easter Activities for Learners with CVI

Learners with vision impairments can sometimes feel left out when it comes to traditions, such as Easter Egg Hunts. There are auditory eggs hunts that learners with visual impairments can participate in, but what about those learners with CVI (cortical visual impairment), who need accommodations to participate visually?  Many children with CVI are attracted to lights, so why not make some lighted eggs?  These Easter activities are designed to provide inclusion for those learners who demonstrate the characteristics of CVI.
